Dr. Svetlana Tvorogova

Svetlana Tvorogova was born in Moscow, with distinction graduated from Sociology Department of the State Academy of Management (1997). She took her Master Studies in Economic Sociology at the Higher School of Economics (1996-98), and made there her doctorate research on the new patterns of transition from university to employment in post-Soviet Russia (thesis defended in 2003)

Currently, Svetlana works at the Chair of Sociology I at Bamberg University and is responsible for preparing the joint ECSR/TransEurope/QMSS2 conference in Bamberg (September 30-October 2, 2010).

Svetlana took part in several European summer schools (2001-2004), was twice on PhD exchange programme with Erasmus University Rotterdam (2000, 2001), as a participant of US-Russia Expert Forum, supported by IREX, was doing a study of current practices for research performance evaluation at the W.E. Upjohn Institute for Employment Research at Kalamazoo, Michigan (2006). Since 1999 Svetlana works as an assistant professor at Higher School of Economics, where she was nominated as nation’s best young lecturer (2005). She works as a consultant in the field of administrative and education reform in Russia. In 2008-09, Svetlana Tvorogova held a German Chancellor Fellowship from Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. She made her research on the ways for raising the effectiveness of education system and the stakeholders involvement into it, focusing mainly on University level. During this time, Svetlana closely worked together with the NEPS team.
