Dipl.-Soz. Ilona Relikowski

Ilona Relikowski, born in Bayreuth, Germany (1981), studied sociology at the Otto-Friedrich-University Bamberg from 2000 to 2006. In her diploma thesis, she examined labor market entries in the United States of America as part of the research project “Flexibility Forms at Labor Market Entry and in the Early Career” ( flexCAREER) at the State Institute for Family Research (ifb). Since December 2006, she is working as a research scientist in the project “educational processes, competence development and selection decisions in pre- and primary school age” (BiKS) with special focus on educational careers of children with migration background ("Kompetenzentwicklungen und Bildungsentscheidungen von Kindern mit Migrationshintergrund im Grundschulalter") at the Department of Sociology I, Otto-Friedrich-University Bamberg. Her special interests are in education, labor markets, welfare regimes, life courses, and social inequality, as well as in quantitative research methods.
