Dipl.-Soz. Nora Skopek

Nora Skopek (neé Müller) was born in Elsterwerda, Germany, in 1985 and studied sociology and economics (in particular empirical microeconomics) at the University of Leipzig, at the University of Valencia (Spain) and at the Otto-Friedrich-University Bamberg where she received her diploma degree in 2010.
In 2008 she worked as a student research assistant at the chair of sociology II (Prof. Dr. Richard Münch) in Bamberg and from 2009 to 2010 she was working as a student research assistant at the IAB (Institut for Employment Research) in Nuremberg. She took part in the project "Unemployment Duration and the Partner's Resources. Gender asymmetries in job-finding effort and re-entering employment".
Since April 2010 she is engaged as a research scientist and Ph.D. student in the project "Household Wealth Inequality in International Comparison". Her main research interests are in life courses, wealth inequality, quantitative data analysis and international comparison. From June 2011 on she will also be a part of the the ERC Advanced Grant project "Education as a Lifelong Process - Comparing Educational Trajectories in Modern Societies".
